Too Much
Original artwork by Tanya Junghans.
Acrylic on canvas, 100cm x 80cm, unframed.

Abstract self-portrait, a piece I call “Too much”.
This painting is a work in progress, like me. It is colourful, a tad over-the-top, a paradox of light and darkness and not completely put-together or precise. Imperfect. Like me. However, the imperfections are exciting, and if you look closer, you find many treasures, truths and nuggets of gold in the darkness and chaos.
It is a counterforce to the fashionable minimalist outlook of today that steers away from colour, flamboyancy and irregularity. It should hopefully make the viewer a bit uncomfortable at first; then, with more study, it should comfort as it reflects your mind to yourself.
